Position Details
Job Overview
- assisting with tree felling/removal
- property and trail inspections
- supervision of roadside tree activities
- tree planting
- weed trimming and maintenance at planting sites
- basic carpentry
- roadside weed inspections
- sign installation
- liaising with various stakeholders
- in-office administrative work (e.g. report writing, filing, record keeping)
- general maintenance/repair of forestry equipment
- other general housekeeping duties
Required Skills/Experience
- be a student who is enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies in the fall
- possess a valid Class G Ontario driver’s licence
- possess good interpersonal skills and pay special attention to safety and detail
- Experience with small tools is considered an asset
- Successful applicants will be required to provide a driver’s abstract indicating a clean driving record
Benefits
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week)
