Finance Student

JOB SUMMARY:

 Under the general supervisionof Manager of Financial Services/Deputy Treasurer,the Finance Student will provide support in relation to municipal operations,both administrative and financial.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Duties will include customer service/reception duties, policy research and overall support to the Financial Services Department. Duties may include processing transactions, preparation and analysis of financial reports. The student may also assist with participate in the development of financial policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a post-secondary education program, preferably in a finance or accounting related field.  

• Valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License.

• Knowledge of accounting principals.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.  

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and email communication.  

• Clear and professional verbal and written communication.  

• Excellent keyboarding and computer skills along with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook and SharePoint software.

• Demonstrated positive and professional demeanor.
