General Program Support & Dock Worker

Job Purpose

The General Program Support & Dock Worker shall ensure all items donated to the Agapé Centre are received and distributed to the proper sorting area and shall assist Agapé's Truck Driver by ensuring all equipment is handled safely and with caution (awareness of breakables).

Accountability

This position is under the supervision of the Volunteer & Logistics Coordinator and shall be subject to a yearly performance review as per Agapé Centre Polices & Procedures.

Responsibility

·Assists the Agapé Centre's Truck Driver with loading and unloading the truck

·Properly acknowledge donors when receiving donations at the dock

·Ensure the clothing donation bin, on premises, is well maintained and emptied regularly

·Assist the Truck driver with weekly pick-up as required

·Able to reject inappropriate donations without causing great offense to donor

Ensure that all garbage and recycling is taken out weekly

·Keep dock and hallways clear and hallways clear at all times by breaking down cardboard and taking it to the recycling container, moving carts from common passageways, etc.

·Responsible to make sure that entrances, walkways and ramp are clean and clear of snow during hours of operation

·Other duties as assigned
