Groundskeeper

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the outdoor appearance, cleanliness, and safe conditions of the Hotel and Conference Centre grounds, ensuring that the property remains welcoming, well-maintained, and presentable for guests, visitors, and employees. This role involves performing routine grounds maintenance and landscaping duties in accordance with daily, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules. Responsibilities include maintaining lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, walkways, and outdoor spaces; completing seasonal groundskeeping tasks; identifying and reporting maintenance concerns or potential safety hazards; and ensuring that all outdoor areas are kept clean, organized, and free of debris. The Groundskeeper is expected to follow established maintenance procedures, health and safety regulations, and departmental standards while working collaboratively with supervisors, senior maintenance personnel, and other departments to support the overall appearance and safe operation of the property.

Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience required, with at least one (1) year of hands-on experience in a similar environment• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under the direction of supervisors or senior maintenance personnel• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and grounds maintenance equipment• Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities• Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong attention to detail• Knowledge of outdoor maintenance practices and workplace health and safety procedures• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs• Valid driver’s license required
