Packer

* Packs boxes and prepares product for shipment.
* Setup the film and packaging equipment.
* Assist operators, packers and/or lead hands with change overs, blade changes, emptying cores, stamping boxes, changing papers, changing end rolls.
* Work as a team with operator and/or lead hands to ensure machine outputs meet production schedule, safety, maximum efficiency, and quality standards.
* Support other coworkers with tasks if needed, including, but not limited to cleaning, stacking boxes, troubleshooting
* Removes finished products from the machine, places product labels, packs item in bags and cartons, and places finished product in proper location as per specifications.
* Performs advanced quality checks and effectively communicates with operator and supervisor to ensure that finished products are made to required quality specifications.
* Aids in the proper and effective operation of the machinery.
* Willing to assist in other areas of the plant, including to cover lunches and breaks as required.
* Performs all work in a safety-first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.

* High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
* Minimum of 1 year experience
* Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
* Ability to read work instructions and machine setup manuals
* Technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Intermediate math skills and English reading and written communication skills necessary.
* Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
* Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
* Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
